Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, the learned abbot of
Triten Norbutse monastery,
will teach the healing rite of Sidpa'i Gyalmo - usually called the
healing rite of Yeshe Walmo -
in Yeshe Sal Ling on the weekend May 13-14, 2017. Khen Rinpoche will
already arrive in Yeshe Sal Ling on May 9, accompanied by
Geshe Shedup Gyatso (aka Geshe Kalzang). May 10-12
we will climb Schöckl mountain, hike in the
woods of St. Radegund and organize other informal activities
with Khenpo and Geshe lags. Come early and participate!
The healing ritual of Sidpa'i Gyalmo (or Yeshe Walmo)
involves mantra practice, purification through water, and
some other related practices. The recipe for the medicine mixture
worn in little bags around the neck is also described in the
petcha containing this healing rite.
This special mantra practice and purification through water is
capable of healing some diseases, and is beneficial also to those
afflicted by more severe diseases, in that it improves the mental
condition and outlook of the sick person and their quality of life.
It goes without saying, in the case of severe diseases, the ritual
will be practiced parallel to the treatment by Western medicine,
not instead.
Yongdzin Tendzin Namdak Rinpoche received transmission of this
special ritual by both his root Lamas: from Gongri Ponlop Tsultrim
Gyaltsen Rinpoche while he was livingand practicing in a cave together
with him,
and later also from Horpa Ponlop Sangye Tendzin Rinpoche. Yongdzin
Rinpoche transmitted it to Khenpo Tenpa Yungdrung Rinpoche, who
will teach us.
Khenpo teaches in English and will be interpreted into German.
