Geshe Samten Tsukphu will teach us a short practice of the medicine Buddha that is used by practitioners of Tibetan medicine in the Bön tradition. It is traditionally recited by doctors while they treat their patients, and it can also be practiced by the patients themselves, as a ritual to encourage the healing process.
Amchi Nyima, a practitioner of traditional Tibetan medicine and member of a long and illustrious family lineage in Mustang, has given us his own medicine Buddha practice to translate and transcribe. It is this authentic ritual that we will practice. Booklets with the original Tibetan text and mantras, together with phonetic transcription and English translation, will be made available. (There is a youtube video introducing Amchi Nyima)Geshe Samten Tsukphu will complement the ritual used by medical practitioners with teachings on the medicine Buddha directed to Bön practitioners in general, teachings such as they are taught to the monks and Lamas in Triten Norbutse.

Geshe Samten Tsukphu has been connected with Yeshe Sal Ling from the start. We are very happy that Geshe Samten reenforces his connection to Yeshe Sal Ling by residing here May 10 - June 26, 2016. Geshe Samten will also give a teaching on the Ma-Tri mantra and, if there is demand for it, a course of Tibetan.
